Character 1
Emily
Age
19
Gender
Female
Description
LEAD ROLE. Seeking bipoc actress. (the other 2 leads are already cast). --- A natural born nursing student - Emily is the mom of the group - the glue that holds the roommates together. She had to work hard for everything she has. Smart, positive, and caring. If you have a problem, she’s your girl. Her own problems however… that’s a different story. Once an ugly-duckling middle schooler, Emily now struggles to see herself as the beautiful swan she has become. When it comes to dating she subconsciously chooses fix-‘er-uppers with untapped potential - rather than good guys she thinks she doesn’t deserve. Emily is the driving force behind the main theme of the show - often reminding her roommates that “we can do hard things”.
Character 2
Rick (the Dick)
Age
18-22
Gender
Male
Description
College Hockey player (no need to actually play). Jerk boyfriend who just dumped one of the girls before heading off to college - and now wants his stuff back before he leaves.
Character 3
MOVER
Age
25-45

Description
Actor/dancer needed. An unassuming moving company employee who delivers some unexpected dance tips to one of the girls as he drops off boxes. Hip hop dance skills required.

Description
Nursing student and love interest for Emily. Nice guy. Good looking. Recurring character.
Character 5
SETH
Age
18-24

Description
Seth is an unassumingly gay theatre student. He comes over to rehearse his romantic acting scene for theatre class with with one of the girl roommates.
Additional Characters

TYLER
18-24
MALE
Tyler is Seth's gay boyfriend who tags along while Seth is rehearsing his romantic scene. Instead of being jealous of the romantic situation, he ends up getting involved and directing them.

SKYLAR'S MOM AND DAD
45-55
MALE/FEMALE
Small town Mom and Dad who don't understand their daughter's life as a theatre student. These characters will be on a video call only - so ideally we're looking for two actors who either live together or can get together on their own to self tape this on their phone. Small but fun roles. $175/each.

ENGLISH PROFESSOR

MALE
Boring English Professor who has lost all love of teaching.

AUSSIE PLUMBER
