 To submit your interest, please do one of the following:
 Write us a short 2-3 paragraphs and tell us about yourself and your passion
 Send us a short video or audio clip telling us about your passion
 Inspired by the phrase “The Enemy of the People”, “Water” or “Henrik Ibsen”  do one of the following: 
o Write a short poem, story or essay (1 page max).
o Send us a picture or image you created 
o Send us a short video or sound clip you created

Project Synopsis
What would I be doing: In a re-imaging of the semi-professional theatre, creating with artists and community, you would be an integral member of the creative ensemble.  Working with director/deviser Jack Paterson, you will be writing, playing, devising and creating - bringing your voice to the stage – in creating a new work of theatre inspired by Ibsen’s classic.
Additional Comments: 

Are you a theatre maker, actor, film maker, dancer, musician, poet, writer, acrobat, sculptor, graphic artist?  Are you none of the above, but have something to say?  

Join us in the creation of United Players’ “The Enemy of the People” after Ibsen.

What would my commitments be?
You would be agreeing to commit to:

 A Creation Period:

  •  A minimum of three 4-5 hrs creation periods per week from November 24, 2019 to January 12, 2020 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturday Evenings, Sunday Daytime – Yes, there will  be a Holiday break!)

 Production and Putting it together:

  •  January 14, 2019 to January 24, 2019
  •  Tuesday to Friday, 6 to 10 PM
  •  January 18 & 19, 2019 
  •  Saturday & Sunday, full day


  •  January 24 - February 16, 2020
  •  Thursday to Sunday at 7
  •  Matinées at 2pm on the second, third and last Sundays of the run

  •  We intend to bring as many voices to the public as possible.  That includes yours.   If there are any barriers to your participation in performance, we are happy to work with  you.

How do I join?
 We are interested in your creativity and what you have to say.  We also aim keep our participation barriers low. 

About the director:
Jack Paterson is an award-winning director, divisor, dramaturge, translator, actor, and producer whose practice has taken across Canada, The United Kingdom and around the world.  His work has ranged from contemporary devising, cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary projects to main stage and classical theatre.  He trained at Circle in the Square (NYC, USA), GITIS The University of Performing Arts (Moscow, RU), SENI Indonesian Institute of the Arts (Bali, INA) and received his MFA from East 15 Acting School (London, UK).  At the JAC, his work has included Julius Caesar, Titus Andronicus (Mad Duck Theatre Collective) and UP’s productions The Pitmen Painters and The Lion in Winter.
