Submission Instructions

Please email darkomendoza123@gmail.com with a introduction stating the character of your choice that you want to audition for. Actors should also include their resumes, headshots, and demo reels/performance footage (if applicable) In the email. All actors all welcome to put their name In the ballet for a part in this story, and they will be respected in the audition process. Chosen candidates will be given sides to give a self tape, however if preferred a zoom meeting can be chosen from individuals in the audition process.

Project Synopsis
Based on a book "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoevsky. The story tells a tale of a young law student Raskolnikov struggling with living in poverty, debt, and loneliness. He finds himself radicalized in a popular movement and ideal which is Nihilism. This new-found ideology causes Raskolnikov to commit to a series of actions that make his soul corrupt, lost, and adrift. This will be a short film with the aim to shoot in the summer. The goal of this project is to have a collaborative effort that makes all members feel included and delighted with shooting/end product.

Description
This man is a detective and has been on Raskolnikov's tail for a long time. Porifry is a veteran detective. He knows the regular methods of how a normal detective would approach a suspect, but feels that he prefers to approach his cases with irregular method. He is considered weird and squirrelly, but his character and unorthodox personality create the perfect detective.

Natasya is the caretaker to the apartment complex that Raskolnikov lives in. She has been around the young man, and she knows his routine but struggles to figure out his character, family history, and social life. Natasya is a observant woman who tries to understand Raskolnikov.

Donya is Raskolnikov's sister. She is loving, concerned, and supportive towards Raskolnikov despite his past. Donya is a brave woman who despite of her poverty she finds strength, and she builds a family of her own.

This character the Pawn Broker builds a living off of people financially struggling, and she has been loaning to Raskolnikov for a good while where the story takes place. This character is unforgiving, relentless, and active in crediting customers.

Description
Razmuchkin is the lover to Donya, a dad to his kids, and longtime friend to Raskolnikov. He has been with him through tough times and will be with him throughout the highs and lows regardless of what's currently happening in both their lives.
Additional Characters

PRISONERS 1-3 ROLES. These prisoners will be apart of this story, and will be introduced with a heated jumping scene that has potential to include more dialogue through script updating, and or adlibbing.
