Project Synopsis
The story follows four deeply complex characters—two photojournalists, a photo editor, and an event planner—grappling with the clash between adrenaline-fueled careers and the desire for an ordinary, domestic life.
Additional Information & Safety Protocols:

Rehearsals will take place evenings and weekends 3 days per week during August and September based on cast availability.

The role of Sarah Goodwin has been cast. A talented, uncompromising photojournalist, Sarah returns to her Brooklyn apartment severely injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq. She is a dedicated “witness” who is fiercely independent, adrenaline-driven, and struggles to transition to a quiet, conventional domestic life.

Character 1
James Dodd
Age
Late 30s/40s
Gender
Male
Description
Sarah’s partner and a fellow journalist. Older, sensitive, and profoundly affected by guilt over leaving Sarah behind in Iraq, James suffers a mental breakdown/panic attack. His harrowing experiences push him to seek a peaceful, ordinary life, creating a rift between him and the thrill-seeking Sarah.
Character 2
Richard Ehrlich
Age
Late 40s/50s
Gender
Male
Description
A successful photo editor and a close friend to both James and Sarah. He is a pragmatic industry veteran who deeply cares for the couple's well-being and serves as a caring confidant while navigating his own life transitions.
Character 3
Mandy Bloom
Age
Early-Mid 20s
Gender
Female
Description
Richard’s much-younger new girlfriend. Initially perceived by the journalists as naive or a stereotype, Mandy is an event planner. Despite her lack of intellectual sophistication regarding global politics, she possesses a warm heart, sharp intuition, and challenges the cynical detachment of the main characters.
