Project Synopsis
Upon hearing of the near end of the world, Archer is determined to spend his final day with an old friend, Alice. He tracks her to the Sanctum, a fortress of solitude designed to be a time capsule of humanity for the distant future. It’s now Alice’s prison, and Archer has walked straight into its trap. As the pair reconnect, he juggles helping her escape and her dreams of seeing the world, with the unbearable weight that there won’t be a world or future left waiting for them. Their journey follows a path of discovering what matters most on the brink of oblivion, in a place that observes and manipulates their every move.

As the world falls apart, his long-term goals lose meaning and he sets his sights on one last hoorah: re-uniting with Alice.

Alice is a young woman and artist. She was co-opted by her father many years ago to become a test subject in a first-of-its-kind, AI-mediated time capsule of human experience. She continues her studies in solitude, and spends her time writing poetry, painting, and journaling, both to keep herself company and to satisfy the ever-hungry AI training itself on her output.
