Project Synopsis
Existential Reset follows Paul, a lonely and routine driven man whose quiet life is disrupted by Ray, a sketchy and offbeat guardian angel who appears with a questionable plan to fix his social life. Over the course of one chaotic night, Paul is pushed to confront his fears, his desires, and the version of himself he has been too afraid to become.
Character 1
Paul
Age
20-28
Gender
Male
Description
Paul is a quiet, introspective man in his late 20s who has built his life around routine and staying unnoticed, often overthinking himself into inaction. Beneath his reserved exterior is a deep well of emotion, longing, and quiet frustration with the life he feels he has settled into. As the story unfolds, he is pushed far outside his comfort zone, offering a strong emotional arc that moves from subtle internal stillness to vulnerability, panic, and unexpected boldness. Grounded and relatable with understated comedic potential, Paul is a character defined by small shifts, suppressed reactions, and the gradual loss of control.
Character 2
Ray
Age
25=40
Gender
Male
Description
Ray is a chaotic, unpredictable presence who presents himself as Paul’s guardian angel, though his methods are anything but traditional. He is fast talking, impulsive, and endlessly confident, with a sharp comedic voice that drives much of the film’s energy. Ray thrives on pushing boundaries and escalating situations, often blurring the line between helpful guidance and reckless interference. The role requires strong comedic instincts, timing, and improvisational freedom, balancing charm with just enough edge to keep the audience questioning his intentions.
Character 3
Emily
Age
20-28
Gender
Female
Description
Emily is warm, outgoing, head strong, and quick witted, with a natural charm that draws people in without effort. She speaks her mind with ease and confidence, often responding faster than others can keep up, giving her a sharp comedic edge in conversation. While socially at ease and approachable, she is self assured in her opinions and not easily swayed, which gives her a grounded presence within the chaos around her.
