Project Synopsis
The Home Inspector is a character-driven comedy short and proof of concept for a larger project. The story blends observational humour, subtle absurdity, and emotional realism to explore the anxieties of modern adulthood — all through the deceptively mundane event of a home inspection. We’re a small, passionate team looking for collaborative performers who enjoy grounded comedy with a hint of the surreal.
Character 1
Emily
Age
25–35
Gender

Description
Emily is about to buy her first home with her partner, Miles. They’ve saved long and hard for their down payment and have fallen in love with this property. While eager to move forward, Emily hangs on every word from the Home Inspector — hoping there are no major issues, but bracing herself just in case. She’s smart, composed, and slightly more skeptical than Miles, balancing excitement with quiet concern as their dream home is put under the microscope. Character 2
Miles

Description
Miles is about to purchase his first home with his partner, Emily. He’s bright, optimistic, and truly excited about the property — the kind of person who sees the potential before the problems. Innocent in his enthusiasm but not naïve, Miles listens carefully to the Home Inspector’s findings, hoping for the best but keeping a quiet reserve of caution. His heart is in the dream, but his head is tuned in.
