Project Synopsis
Gretchen (60s) was sixteen when she killed her father. She has spent every year since making sure no one ever looks at her twice. But ten-year-old Pixie from next door has found out her secret, and she has a request: Get rid of my mother. Gretchen refuses, but in this strange, stubborn little girl, she begins to recognize someone she once was. Will she walk away, or will she finally save the child she couldn't save before?

Character 1
GRETCHEN VOSS
Age
55-70
Gender
Female
Description
A woman erased by choice. At sixteen, she killed her father, not out of rage, but exhaustion, after realizing no one was coming to protect her. She fled that night and never stopped running. Now she's a recluse fluent in disappearing: taser under the mattress, curtains sealed day and night. She is lonely, but she stopped noticing long ago. Then Pixie, a kid learning too early that no one else is coming, breaches her walls. Through her, Gretchen begins, almost against her will, to step back into the world.
Character 2
PIXIE MARSH
Age
10-14
Gender
Open
Description
A kid who acts like she's got the whole world figured out. She doesn't, not really. She can't see the full picture of what's happening at home, but she's quick to read a room. Pixie never learned how to ask for what she actually wants, so she reaches for the meanest words she has and asks Gretchen to "get rid of" her mom. What she really wants is simpler: for someone to step in. She plays it cool, teases, fires off odd questions. Underneath, she just wants to be loved.
Character 3
ANNIE MARSH
Age
30-40
Gender
Female
Description
Pixie’s mom. An ordinary woman just trying to get through each day, and nothing comes easy. She's buried in bills, exhausted. She keeps going because no one else will. Never truly loved herself, Annie doesn't know how to be tender, so Pixie often gets her sharp edges instead of the soft ones. But underneath it all, the love is there, waiting for a moment of relief to show itself.
Character 4
DERIC HALLOWAY
Age
30-40
Gender
Male
Description
Pixie's father. He used to be a different man. Now he's volatile and desperate, ignoring a restraining order to find his family, convinced he's the one who's been wronged. Needs to shift from threatening to shaken in a single scene.
