Character 1
Eric
Age
50s
Gender
Male
Description
Caucasian. Stella’s husband and Jake’s father. Eric approaches parenting with a mix of old-school values and comedic exasperation. He is outspoken, blunt, and often serves as comic relief. He does not always understand his son’s modern views, but genuinely wants the best for him. The role plays with generational differences in a warm and comedic way.
Character 2
Stella
Age
40s
Gender
Female
Description
Caucasian. A caring and slightly anxious mother who is deeply invested in her son’s happiness. Stella worries about losing touch with Jake as he grows up and tends to overthink things. She is warm, nurturing, and somewhat self-deprecating, with a slightly awkward sense of humour.
Character 3
Jake
Age
18–20
Gender
Male
Description
Caucasian. Stella and Eric’s son, who is preparing to leave for university. He is mature, responsible, environmentally conscious, and principled. He is not easily impressed by material gifts and values meaningful gestures instead. His views sometimes create humorous generational misunderstandings with his parents.
Character 4
Jill
Age
20s
Gender
Female
Description
All ethnicities. Sporty, fit, and disciplined. Jill values efficiency and independence and is often frustrated by the inconveniences of student life without a car. She has a dry sense of humour and a practical, no-nonsense personality.
Character 5
Nina
Age
20s
Gender
Female
Description
All ethnicities. Dreamy, expressive, and romantic. Nina tends to bond quickly with her roommates over shared struggles and experiences. She can be somewhat impatient and decisive, with a strong preference for efficiency and immediate results.
