Project Synopsis
Leo is dying. After learning he has a month to live, he and his father finally buy the liveaboard boat of their dreams, where Leo will live out the rest of his days.

This producction will partially take place on a boat. If you are easily sea sick, or have any other hang ups about being on a boat, this may not be a great role for you.

Description
Leo is a 22-year-old house painter, ocean enthusiast, and Caribbean food enthusiast. After learning that cancer is leaving him only a couple of months to live, his adventurous instincts kick in, and he and his father buy the live-aboard sailboat they've always dreamed of. In this film, Leo grapples with his own mortality, masculinity, and learning how to ask for help when he needs it, even when he thinks he doesn’t. The close quarters of the boat create a very intimate setting where Leo and his father must process the unprocessable. On their voyage, the two share love, laughter, tears, French food, anger, denial, unshakable dread, Caribbean food, and the pure honesty that the loss of time rips out of them.

Emil is a 55-year-old single father and owner of a commercial painting business. A first-generation immigrant, Emil comes from a long line of French fishermen. After learning that cancer is leaving his 22-year-old son Leo just a couple of months to live, Emil, like he always has, fiercely wants to protect and be there for his son. After buying the live-aboard sailboat he and Leo have always dreamed of, Emil must grapple with the fear of losing his son, the weight of feeling like he’s failed parenthood, and the deep need to spend as much time with him as possible. On their voyage, the two share love, laughter, tears, French food, anger, denial, unshakable dread, Caribbean food, and the pure honesty that the loss of time rips out of them.
