This is a non-union production with the option to cast one union member on an Amateur contract. Please indicate if you have any union affiliations.

Needed at the audition: Please prepare a side of the character of your choice. Also be prepared to sing “Keep the home fires burning” by Ivor Novello. Both the sides and a copy of the sheet music can be found on our website at https://unitedplayers.com/auditions/ and at the link above. There will be a recording of the accompaniment at the audition.

Project Synopsis
Étapes, France, 1918. Nurses Christy, Maggie and Bab have crossed oceans to care for wounded Canadian soldiers in the Great War. Despite the terrible injuries they must deal with, they manage to stay hopeful as the dangers of the front draw closer to their hospital. Through it all, the women find friendship, independence, power and influence in a place where men, once again, are trying to destroy the world.

We are looking for three female identifying actors with good singing voices for the following roles.

Scottish Canadian young nurse. Needs Scottish accent. She is a strong leader and the most experienced of the nurses. She misses her close friend she lived with back home and worries about their future together.
Character 2
Christy

A young Canadian nurse who writes to her husband back home while coming to grips with the stark difference between the life she is expected to lead and the one she actually desires.
