Project Synopsis
Human connection can be found even in the most unexpected and uncomfortable moments. In a hospital waiting room, four characters wait for very different reasons. One is waiting for his father, who has suffered an unexpected heart attack; another is waiting for his girlfriend, who is in labour; a frat boy is dealing with the consequences of taking things too far at a party; and a young girl is preparing for plastic surgery. Coming from completely different backgrounds and carrying their own stories, they form an unexpected bond as they confront their fears, aspirations, and uncertainties. Despite their differences, they all share one thing in common: the uncertainty of what awaits them beyond the hospital doors.

Description
A teenage girl who is uncertain about who she is and where she fits in. She is artistic, ambitious, and kind, but keeps much of herself hidden because she fears criticism and disappointing the people around her. She looks up to her successful older sisters and worries that her own dreams are not enough. She is preparing for a major physical change, hoping it will give her a sense of control and the validation she feels she is missing. Although she may initially come across as closed-off, she deeply craves connection and to feel truly seen.

A quiet, socially awkward young man who tends to live in his own world. He is highly observant and notices the smallest details about the people around him, the way they speak, move, laugh, or interact. An only child who lives with his father, he grew up more interested in reading and writing than being around others. He struggles to express his own personality and often feels more comfortable observing others than being seen himself. He is under pressure to live up to his father’s success and is uncertain about what he wants from his own future.

A man whose life is about to change as his girlfriend prepares to have their first child. He is caring and deeply empathetic, often putting other people's needs before his own. He has a natural ability to comfort people and can brighten a room without realizing it. Beneath this warmth, however, he is anxious and uncertain about whether he is ready to become a father. He wants to give everything he has to this new chapter, but part of him wonders if he still has more of his own life to experience.

A college student who is afraid of growing up. He has found comfort in his friends, partying, and the familiar routine of college life and doesn't know who he is outside of that world. He was supposed to graduate two years ago but continues to avoid facing what comes next. On the surface, he is fun, confident, and careless, but underneath he feels lonely and uncertain about how much longer he can hold onto the life he has created. He has dreams of his own but fears that changing direction means disappointing himself.
