Project Synopsis
Detective Jones and her longtime friend, Dr. Adrian Christoph, investigate the mysterious disappearance of Lord Hale. His study appears to show signs of a violent abduction, but Jones quickly realizes the evidence has been carefully staged. A missing chess piece connects the scene to an old criminal case, yet one crucial detail does not fit. As Jones follows the inconsistencies, her suspicions shift from the crime scene to Christoph himself. When he finally reveals the missing knight, Jones discovers that Hale was never in danger. Christoph created the entire mystery to bring her back into his life. The case is solved, but the truth behind it forces both of them to confront feelings neither has been willing to say out loud.
