Project Synopsis
Naomi has spent years in an unhealthy relationship with her boyfriend Andrew that is causing her no break down. He tells her what to say, what to wear, and how to act, all while making cruel remarks. She knows it’s bad for her but can’t seem to leave until her anxiety forces her to. Mimi is the living embodiment of Naomi’s anxiety and has been with Naomi for quite a while now, yes Mimi hasn’t been exhausting to have around until Naomi is forced to attend a high-stakes dinner with Andrew and his boss Mark. Naomi and Mimi regress together as Andrew, Mark and Mark’s wife Andrea pierce her with their judgements, causing her to come undone.

Naomi is sweet, calm, and usually collected, yet the crushing weight of perfectionism has begun to ruin her calm exterior. Naomi’s relationship with her boyfriend has caused her self-esteem to plummet, feeding her anxiety, and causing her to finally reach her limit. Being forced to attend a dinner she absolutely dreads, Naomi can’t hold back anymore when she is being taunted by Mimi in front of who seem to be the most important people she’s sat across from.

Mimi is the living and breathing version of Naomi’s inner monologue. She is rude, chaotic, and flat out annoying. She takes up as much space as she possibly can and can’t help but make a terrible comment. Despite her being so aggravating, she is honest and a real part of Naomi that needs to be accepted.

Andrew is Naomi’s arrogant boyfriend, whose entire existence is based on impressing his boss. He is obsessed with climbing the corporate ladder, leading him to dismiss Naomi as his girlfriend, and only using her as a tool in gaining a closer relationship with his boss.

Mark is a high-class businessman who doesn’t care much for anything besides himself. He believes he is superior to everyone around him because he has financial power. This causes him to be extremely judgmental of everyone including his wife.
