Project Synopsis
Sabrina, a 19-year-old Canadian, arrives in Norway for an internship and moves into an apartment beneath her landlords, Ingrid and Erik. On her first night, a kitchen accident, a locked door and a stranger at the window unsettle her. Calls from her overprotective mother, Olivia, fuel her anxiety until every unfamiliar sound and encounter feels threatening. As Sabrina doubts her own judgment, even her mother’s involvement becomes suspicious. The next morning, she discovers photographs linking Olivia to the couple, then finds her mother at the foot of the stairs.
Additional Information & Safety Protocols:

* Some rehearsal will be required; dates will be confirmed.
* Please indicate any Norwegian-language ability in your submission, particularly for Erik and Ingrid.

Character 1
Sabrina
Age
18-25
Gender
Female
Description
Any ethnicity. Intelligent, curious, and eager to prove herself, Sabrina moves to Norway for an engineering program. She wants independence but still craves her mother’s approval, feeling guilty whenever she pushes back. As loneliness sets in, her excitement gives way to self-doubt. She begins questioning her choices and wondering whether she has taken a bigger leap than she can handle.
Character 2
Olivia
Age
40-50
Gender
Female
Description
Any ethnicity. Warm, meticulous and quietly possessive, Olivia has built her identity around being needed. Having been left behind before, she fears becoming unnecessary and struggles to accept any boundary on her involvement. Beneath her gentle manner lies a fierce need for control: in the name of love, she can justify almost anything.
Character 3
Ingrid
Age
40-65
Gender
Female
Description
Scandinavian. Softly spoken and disarmingly cheerful, Ingrid asks personal questions, stands too close, and takes every coincidence as a sign. She offers herbal remedies without being asked and explains discomfort as “energy shifting.” She met Olivia at a yoga retreat and firmly believes mothers know best. She takes pride in making people feel at home, but decides for them what comfortable should look like and takes their politeness as agreement.
Character 4
Erik
Age
40-65
Gender
Male
Description
Scandinavian. Quiet, particular, and easily irritated, Erik values routine and wants as few demands on his time as possible. He checks locks, watches the clock, and mutters in Norwegian when interrupted. Questions earn brief answers and barely concealed impatience, especially when the answer seems obvious to him. He leaves the welcoming to Ingrid and expects guests to adapt to his rules without repeated explanations.
