Synopsis or Project Context (commercial/corporate projects, see note below):
Casting "Seconds | The Watch That Rewinds Time," a 10-minute student short film. A sci-fi thriller in which Evan, a young loser, unknowingly causes his love life to fall apart as he abuses the power of a time-rewinding watch and becomes more arrogant. This is a story about consequences and regret. It shows the importance of intent when it comes to actions.
Submission Instructions:

Please send a headshot, a cover letter, and only if possible, a video reel and resume to j.mercado@infocusfilmschool.com

Additional Information & Safety Protocols (see help text below field):

For Evan's character there is a quick scene that requires the actor to be shirtless and wearing shorts, as well as implicit cheating/intercourse. For Valerie, there will be a quick, safe and implicit intimacy scene (one actor required).

Audition Date(s) (if applicable):
Late May (will be updated)
Character 1 Name:
Evan
Character 1 Age:
18 - 24
Character 1 Description:
Lead: An awkward, overstressed recent high school grad stuck in a dead-end retail job. He struggles to connect with his girlfriend, Alice, and feels life slipping by. After finding a time-rewinding watch, he spirals from anxious and well-meaning to arrogant and reckless, now living a life without consequence. Actor must balance vulnerability with a slow descent into morally unhinged behaviour. Includes physical scenes (shirtless, simulated streaking; no full nudity).
Character 2 Age:
18 - 24
Character 2 Name:
Alice
Character 2 Description:
Supporting: Evan’s high school sweetheart, hopeful, loyal, and emotionally present. She tries to make the most of their time together, unaware that her love can’t ease the unrest building inside him. Her warmth contrasts with Evan’s spiral, making her a quiet tragedy in this unraveling story. The actor should convey sincerity and emotional depth without full awareness of the film’s darker themes.
Character 3 Name:
Valerie
Character 3 Age:
19 - 30
Character 3 Description:
Day Player: A bold, flirtatious waitress who matches Evan’s newfound arrogance with effortless confidence. Their chemistry is impulsive and physical; a moment of mutual indulgence rather than connection. She’s attracted to his charm and plays along without attachment. The actor should bring confidence, edge, and strong nonverbal presence. (Includes a quick, safe implicit intimacy scene, no nudity)
Character 4 Name:
Boss
Character 4 Age:
20+
Character 4 Description:
Background/Extra: Evan’s manipulative and condescending retail manager; the embodiment of corporate exploitation. He hides passive aggression behind fake professionalism, using authority to belittle and overwork his employees. He’s smug, self-important, and sees Evan as disposable. The actor should bring a balance of dry humour and an implicit sense of control and cruelty. Currently a non-speaking role.
