NO SCENES OF INTIMACY will be required / requested. The two boyfriends will only converse with each other throughout the entire script and the story does not hint any intimacy. If any discomfort is present, please let our AD know and we can make sure you are as comfortable as possible! No stunts will be required / requested as well.
Flat rate of $150.00 USD for up to 4 hours of recording.
If the recording exceeds the initial 4 hours, an additional $150.00 USD will be added, capped at a total of 8 hours, for a total of $300.00 USD.

TRINITY ROSS, FEMALE (15) – SUPPORTING, Black/African Descent

A new transfer student who doesn’t miss anything. Trinity is highly intelligent, emotionally controlled, and always watching. She reads people instantly and tracks patterns others overlook. She’s not here to fit in—she’s here to uncover the truth, driven by a personal connection to the case. Sharp and guarded.

This is a standout role. Needs an actor who can play quiet intensity, intelligence, and subtle authority.
MARCUS, MALE (17) – SUPPORTING, Open Ethnicity
Curious, brave and morally grounded. Marcus thinks before he speaks and rarely shows his full hand. He reads situations quickly, adapts, and asks questions others are too afraid to ask. Sharp, guarded, and calculating.

Needs an actor who can play internal tension, intelligence, and restraint, with the ability to subtly shift as pressure builds.
COACH THOMAS, MALE (40s-50s) – SUPPORTING, Open Ethnicity
A respected mentor figure with a commanding presence. Coach Thomas is disciplined, protective, and deeply rooted in his role as a guide for young men—but beneath that is a man carrying quiet guilt and unresolved conflict. He knows more than he says, and as the truth surfaces, he’s forced to confront where he stands. Grounded, controlled, and conflicted.

This is a layered role. Needs an actor who can convey authority, emotional weight, and moral conflict, with subtlety and realism.
MR. BANK, MALE (40s) – SUPPORTING – Open Ethnicity
A school counsellor who presents as safe, warm, and trustworthy—but something beneath the surface doesn’t sit right. He builds trust easily, especially with vulnerable students, but his intentions may not be what they seem. A character walking the line between protector and manipulator. Calm, polished, quietly unsettling.

Requires subtlety and control. The actor must play both comforting and quietly ominous without ever tipping too far either way.
MS. TEAGUE, FEMALE (30s-50s) – SUPPORTING, Open Ethnicity
A teacher who maintains control in a tense and unstable environment. Sharp and observant, she begins to sense that something deeper is going on with her students. Represents authority, but not ignorance. Structured and perceptive.

Grounded, natural performance. Should feel like a real educator—firm, intelligent, and quietly aware.
JACE "GHOST" NAVARRO, MALE (20s) - SUPPORTING / ANTAGONIST - Open Ethnicity
Calm, calculated, and quietly terrifying. Ghost doesn’t raise his voice—he doesn’t need to. He manipulates from the shadows, seeing people as pieces on a board. Controlled, dangerous.

Nat’s girlfriend. Anxious, oversharing, and overthinking when in social situations, but quietly confident when
comfortable. Deeply eager to make a good impression with Nat’s family. Lovable, high-strung, and painfully
transparent at times.
Physical requirements: Intimacy (hand holding, hugging, kissing)
Stu – mid/late 20s/early 30s, male
A dorky bartender posing as Kate’s fake boyfriend. Quiet, awkward, and unintentionally hilarious. Always seems to
be in the exact right place to accidentally witness the family’s secrets unravelling but has no idea what to do with
that information. Becomes fast friends and stoner-buddies with Olly but will drop everything if given the
opportunity to flirt with Kate.
Physical requirements: Light intimacy (hand holding, hugging, flirting), fight choreography
Susan Schiefer – late 40s-60s, female
Mother of Ben, Kate, Nat and Olly. Intense, controlling, and deeply invested in appearances. A perfectionist shaped
by her own upbringing. Somewhat behind the times when it comes to gender roles/expectations. Determined to host
the perfect family dinner to impress her elderly mother, she fails to see the pressure she places on her children.
*The actor cast as Susan will also play Grandma Schiefer. Age is not a limiting factor for Grandma
Schiefer as it will be exaggerated with costumes and wig and staging.

WESTLEY Supporting Cast. Any Gender (Can also go by Buttercup). The Personality Hire of the Nobodies, and expert Shakespearean. Westley is the talkative, eccentric and more optimistic mouthpiece of the Nobodies. They are physically disabled, likely using a cane or other similar mobility aid. (Primarily a Non-Singing Role, but can join some ensemble songs)
JOSH Supporting Cast. Male presenting. Josh is the current leader of Alpha Alpha Alpha - the Bad Frat - and a real jerk. However, though he may be high on the food chain, he seems very aware of a bigger, badder fish looming over him. Range: (F#2-C#4) or (F#3-C#5)
GUY Lead. Late 40s-60s, Male presenting. The Head of the University, the Dean is a scheming, clever, dastardly ultra-capitalist with a very, very low opinion of the Arts, quick to call any artist a "Degenerate". Park & Bark. Range: (E2-B3)
BARBARA Supporting Cast. (Also in Ensemble) - Any Gender. A member of the University board and one of the Dean's cronies. Sings and Dances with Ensemble.
ADAM Supporting Cast. (Also in Ensemble) - Any Gender. A member of the University board and one of the Dean's cronies. Sings and Dances with Ensemble.
STACY Supporting Cast. (Also in Ensemble) - Female Presenting. A Member of the City Planning Committee, and Sierra's older sister, Stacy knows. She knows. She is most likely the smartest person in the city, but she is a stickler for the rules, and- loopholes be damned- she must abide by them.
SIERRA Supporting Cast. (Also in Ensemble) - Female Presenting. A Member of the City Planning Committee, and Stacy's younger sister, Sierra often has a job to do, but her passion for life, love and the arts- Musical Theater, especially- can impede her efficiency and judgement. Range (F#4 - F#5)
JOHN Supporting Cast. Late 40s-60s. Originally Male presenting, but open to cast gender neutral. The Mayor of the City. A strange and mysterious figure. (Primarily a Non-Singing Role, but can join some ensemble songs)
ENSEMBLE ONE 4 Roles (includes double casting with supporting cast and understudies/swings). Making up the bulk of Arms House. Primarily male presenting. Involves group song and dance.

This project includes themes of animal abandonment, shelter environments, grief, and the death of a beloved pet. Some scenes involve emotionally intense material, including fear, loss, and trauma recall. Please submit only if you feel comfortable engaging with these themes in a supportive rehearsal environment.
Rehearsals start mid-June to the beginning of September. Exact dates TBC.
